The Bible defines who we are and what we’re to be all about. Consequently, it forms the basis of our approach to ministry at New Hope Missions Church.

In Scripture, we see that while Salvation (conversion, ‘being saved,’ or being ‘born again’), that is – being brought to faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ, is the ultimate goal for every Christian, it is not the end of who and what he/she is or can become in Christ, even now. God wants to do work in and through each Christian for the advancement of the Gospel – that is, for the benefit of others (both eternal benefits and benefits in this life.)

As a result, we at New Hope Missions Church believe that we have meaningful work to do for God’s Kingdom! And, that this is actually our purpose in life – to serve the God who saved us and who, through us (His followers), wants to save even more! (2 Cor. 5:15-20)

In fact, God has formed the church and given it “pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service…” And, the primary means for serving God is by serving others. Consequently, New Hope Missions Church has been formed with “missions” as its primary focus – serving God by serving others, both locally and “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

The beauty of this approach and vision, is that people are really happiest, themselves, when they are helping others. In fact, “the secret to happiness, is to focus on someone else’s problems, not your own.”
