Fellowship

Fellowship is what happens when Christians get together and have a good time. More than just socializing, however, Christian fellowship occurs at a deeper level because Christ is the center of the relationship. The Biblical word, “fellowship” actually means to share in common the same one thing. The same one thing that we all share is Christ, and that makes all the difference in the world (and out of this world as well)!

We’ll have specific fellowship events, from time to time – perhaps frequently, that are seemingly more social in nature, but we’ll enjoy those more because of who we are to each other in Christ. Additionally, “fellowship” will occur whenever we get together for whatever purpose, and will perhaps be the most satisfying and deeply relational when we engage in two activities: Christian service together, and Christian time in the Word, together.

Our greatest growth, individually AND together, will happen especially when we serve side by side and share God’s Word in small groups. It’s what we call Christian Community. But it doesn’t occur unless you engage.

It’s been observed that the most vibrant Christians, and the most vibrant churches, happen when most of its people engage in weekly small groups and short-term mission trips or significant community service projects. In particular, when a group of Christians leave this country of plenty and serve in Christ’s name on a mission trip, they never return unchanged – and greatly so.

So, don’t wait for the social events – you’ll gain your greatest friends and greatest sense of belonging through Christian fellowship that happens from “Serving the world with the Hope of Christ” together with others at New Hope Missions Church. Let’s get started!
