Sunday's Sermon Notes
February 19, 2012 - "Separation of Church and State" and Religious Liberty

When is it appropriate, even required, for the Church to speak out?

What's at stake in the current status of our nation's healthcare mandate?

What do Christians and Churches need to be prepared to do, to "remain faithful to the end?"

February 12, 2012 - Jesus Establishes the MOTIVE and IDENTITY of His Mission

3 Week Sermon Series:  MISSION POSSIBLE:  The Mission of Christ on Earth, for us!

Week Three: (Mark 1:40 - 2:12)  Jesus Establishes the MOTIVE and IDENTITY of His Mission.  Here we see that Jesus is moved by compassion to "cleanse" a man with Leprosy.  We also see Him forgive and heal a paralytic.  In both cases, Jesus also responds to faith in Him - that He is both ABLE and WILLING to help us - especially with our greatest need - the forgiveness of our sins.

February 5, 2012 - Jesus Establishes the POWER and PURPOSE of His Mission

3 Week Sermon Series:  MISSION POSSIBLE:  The Mission of Christ on Earth, for us!

Week Two: (Mark 1:29-39)  Jesus Establishes the POWER and PURPOSE of His Mission.  Here we see use His POWER to serve people - to heal them of illness and to cast out demons (ridding them of evil rule in their lives).  We also see that Jesus goes to God, His Father, for Strength (POWER) and Direction (PURPOSE) for His Mission.  We too, need to surrender to God for His Power in our lives and His good Purpose for it as well.  And, we are then directed by Him to align our Purpose with the Purpose of Jesus' Mission - which is the eternal salvation of all people, not just the physical healing of some.

January 29, 2012 - Jesus Establishes the GOAL and AUTHORITY of His Mission

3 Week Sermon Series:  MISSION POSSIBLE:  The Mission of Christ on Earth, for us!

Week One:  (Mark 1:14-28)  Jesus Establishes the GOAL and AUTHORITY of His Mission.  Here we see that Jesus' mission is to save the world through the revelation of the Kingdom of God, which He came to re-establish, and is good news!  We also see that He calls us for the purpose of carrying out that Mission.

January 22, 2012 - Life Is Precious!

Sanctity of Life - at all stages of life.

January 15, 2012 - Come and See - Jesus!

We are invited to "Come and See" Jesus - who will reveal Himself to every seeker of Him.  Based on John 1:35-51.

January 8, 2012 - HAVE YOU COME TO WORSHIP?

Based on Matthew 2:1-12, the visit of the Magi.  What does it mean to "worship" God?  Is He your all in all?  Do you realize that He's everything to you?  Do you adore Him for it?

The sermon ended with this youtube video:  What Is Worship?

Then, prayer on our knees, and singing: Came to My Rescue (Hillsong United).

AWESOME!

January 1, 2012

NEW BEGINNINGS - Are they still possible for you? - YES, but you must focus your thinking on God!

Based on:  Ephesians 4:20-24, Romans 12:2, and Philippians 4:8-9
